We’ve got a new gig happening this weekend, in association with the amazing Shrieking Violet!

It’s a house gig, so if you’d like to come and want to get directions then email housegig@dogzilla.co.uk before Saturday afternoon.

It’s bring your own bottle, and there’s no door charge (though if you’re employed then please donate a couple of quid so we can pass the money on to the bands).

We have a new gig happening on Monday 25th July!

We have three great acts on for just £3, doors open at 7.30pm.

If you like the music of Rufus Wainwright or Owen Pallett, then you should definitely come check out Matt Winkworth. Nightshift magazine said he’s “…like listening to Stephen Fry tinkling the ivories and doing his best Noel Coward impression …there’s a wonderful playful humour to his lyrics and stage presence.”

The mysterious King of Cats refuses to do press, but a Google search reveals the following:
“KING OF CATS: Karl Kyle, brother of Selina Kyle, is inspired by his sister’s infamy to become a costumed criminal. His catlike garb and his crimes revolve around a theme of cats, and he resembles a male version of Catwoman.” Well I never!

Supporting these two wandering stars is Manchester’s own Jo Rose, whose bittersweet strain of Americana is a genuine joy to listen to (even while it brings a wistful tear to the eye). You can see him in action at http://www.youtube.com/watch?&v=smwCfY9cBJs.

Gig on Friday April 29th

After a looong Winter hibernation, we’ve got a new gig coming up at the end of this month. On the same day as the Royal Wedding, no less!

We’re very excited to have wonderful sort-of-locals The Middle Ones headlining the gig, ably supported by Birmingham’s finest Ace Bushy Striptease. And with the debut appearance of avant-punk super-group Lemonade Seas!

The gig is taking place in a private residence on Chapeltown Street (just behind Piccadilly Station), which means two things:

- We won’t be charging entry, but we are hoping everyone coming will donate some money for the bands. People who donate at least £3 will get a bottle of cider and a cake!

- You’ll need to either confirm you’re attending on the Facebook event page or send us an email, that way we can send you the details of how to get to the gig a few days before it takes place.
